I know it's just a novel, but this is the man who had her taken from her bed, kept in the dark and subsequently sliced her leg to prove a point. Until she falls at her kidnappers feet because he gives excellent orgasms. Rin goes from oggling her best friends 15 year old brother to maintaining fortitude throughout her kidnap. Then suddenly she is a totally different woman within a couple of days. I thought Rin to be a spoiled and childish character. If this was the intent I'm afraid it failed. Another reason would be that I felt the empathy built in the original books was being traded onto Rin.Īs if learning her parents story gave an automatic connection to their daughter. In my mind they are immortalised as forever young. Part of it is because I didn't want Roth and Harry to be in their sixties. The whole next generation maybe? I don't know. Now, I enjoyed the original books in this series, I did, but couldn't quite get there with this book.
